Following a £12 million investment, Stirling became CityFibre’s first completed Gigabit City project in August 2020, meaning that all businesses and residents have access to cutting edge connectivity across the City. (Read more)

Analysis by Thinkbroadband, which maintains an independent database of broadband network coverage places Stirling in the top 3 local authorities in Scotland for full fibre coverage. Stirling Council has contributed £640,000 to investing in digital connectivity and rural broadband.

In Stirling, we understand that ultrafast broadband is for all and our award winning rural broadband project ensures that there is excellent connectivity in our more rural locations. The Rural Broadband Project won best rural impact project at the INCA Gold awards (2019), the broadband Oscars and the Scottish Government’s ‘Delivering Excellence Accolade’ at the COSLA Excellence Awards (2019).

The University of Stirling’s Computer Science School being ranked in the top 10 in the UK in the recent Guardian University Guide (Uni rating)

Stirling is also home to Codebase (Codebase), the largest technology incubator in the UK and one of the fastest growing in Europe. Their aim is to help people build better tech start-ups and support tech innovation wherever they can.
