CodeBase Stirling at 5

CodeBase is a tech ecosystem support organisation active in 27 hubs across the UK which uses worldwide start-up best practice to accelerate tech innovation and in 2022 Stirling Council and Codebase celebrates 5 years of collaboration in the city’s centre. Stirling Council holds an ambition to develop Stirling as one of the most important centres for Digital Technology in Scotland, and to act as a key driver for growing tech businesses.  As CodeBase is the UK’s largest digital tech incubator, and one of the fastest growing in Europe, the partnership is recognised as a positive statement of intent by the Council to deliver on Stirling as a world class centre for digital technology and innovation.

The city’s iconic Municipal Buildings were recognised as a perfect location that could be sympathetically and creatively refurbished as modern, flexible  space. Tailored to support the start-up and growth of businesses and provide a focal point for building the digital tech community in Stirling,  CodeBase Stirling officially opened in September 2017. The juxtaposition of the building’s historic details, marble stairway and stained glass panels, together with its high tech facilities provide a space fit for purpose for tech start-ups, as well as an inspirational home for its community of tenants.

Welcomed with enthusiasm by Stirling’s business community, CodeBase is now an established landmark in Stirling’s city centre, going from strength to strength. This illustrates the power of the concept, as well as a commitment to creating and developing Stirling’s Digital District.
